Crap, I was in the middle of typing this out and I accidentally posted. Anyway, this is Lemaitre's seasonal "progressions" (year/60m/100m/200m). Basically, everything after 2013 is a disaster for him, anyway, but you can see there's a pretty clear trend toward better 60m results indoor, better 100m results.
I think after 2013 he started realizing he didn't train right. But by then it was too late for his career, so he's still squeezed out sub-6.6s for a while still trying to hang on, but he was just churning his wheels by then. If he had been handled right and focused himself better, we should have seen better gains over all his races, and especially over 60, from 2012 through 2014. But, que sera sera.

What was wrong with Lemaitre's training? I don't know anything about it but would like to learn about it.

He was rail thin and whenever I saw his start in 100m races, he looked like he had NO pop out of the blocks, kind of like Lyles. Considering that he STILL managed 6.55 over 60 meters indoor, and based on some various conjecture I heard online about either his, or his coaches, attitude about the weight room, it seems abundantly clear he left a lot on the table in terms of 100m potential.
To be fair, some people just never seem to get it...like Lyles. Lyles certainly appears to TRY to train for power and work on his acceleration. But...it's going NOWHERE for him, and maybe even hampered him last year. But, there may have been other stuff at play there, too. Hard to say. Certainly, his start is always a detriment to him, specifically when he tries legit 100s. So maybe, no matter what, Lemaitre wouldn't have improved...but even Lemaitre's start is better than Lyles ever has hus. So maybe he would have adapted even better with a better training plan, but his focus and priorities never supported that.
Call it conjecture and rumor, if you like. That's fair. But, there's something to be said for the fact that at age 22/23, where most sprinters make a big leap forward and peak, he regressed and then flopped big time.
All of us need to back off Boling because being a multi point scorer for Georgia we will always be seeing things in abstract. Even after the NCAA's outdoor just how much will he have left to try and make our Olympic team?
Best to wait until his NCAA days are over to get a legit read on him.
