No, the poster wasn't saying it was understandable. He was saying that if there is no unlocked bathroom around, its lowers the level of the criminal indecency and public defecation charges. That's not true. You can't plead lack of access to a bathroom when you take a dump on a public track.
Total nonsense. So someone can take a dump in the middle of a residential street and not get charged by arguing there were no unlocked bathrooms around?
No, they're just saying it's understandable. Like, I took dumps in wooded areas near houses growing up because I lived in a gated community and there were literally no restrooms available for miles. No one ever found me, because like I mentioned earlier, I'm smart about it. But if someone did walk up on me squatting behind a bush, I'd explain my situation and ask them what they'd like me to do in the future. Now they're the one in a pickle without any good options, and they'll understand my situation.
Dude, you are either a deviant, or your pre-run routine needs a ton of work. I've been running for many many years, and only used a park restroom, or port-0-pottie 3 times. I have had close calls a few times, and been in extreme discomfort, but never felt the need to go find some bushes to push out feces.
You should have this figured out by now. It seems like you take it as a poop badge of honor.
Also, no brownie points for not getting caught. That's what should happen.

I have a sensitive stomach. I could wait for the perfect window of time to go for a run, or I could just go and let my guttiworks sort themselves out. And like with all things running, don't assume that things work the same way for you that they do for someone else. I have learned to manage my pooping, but I also don't shy away from it if the urge makes itself known and I can find a good spot. (which, again, I am very good at doing because I am smart, bold, and fearless)
You sound anal-retentive like most runners. I bet you couldn't poop outside unless your sphincter was involuntarily opening. You need to get back to the earth. I have tips on wiping depending on what you have available, just ask.

I read it the other way - not as a formal assessment of the degree of the criminal offense, but just to say it was not such a bad thing. Only java joe can tell us what he meant.

You've been a runner for "many many" years, and you've seriously NEVER had to crap in the woods on a long run?

No doubt some people have more sensitive bowels than others, but that said if you find yourself having routinely sensitive bowels you either should not be hanging around schools or should figure out how to manage it so that you don’t poop your pants in public
Have to agree with a previous comment. The idea of a shirtless American running threshold pace through the doors of an American high school and announcing that he is "going to explode" (or something along those lines) is ludicrous. This was an affront to American values, plain and simple.
In what other capacity do adults who aren't employed there nor have children who are students there routinely hang out on high school campuses? Functionally, it's odd at best. The general public would tend to see this as creepy, even if they understand that pro runners need to train.

Yeah that's a good point, I would either avoid the track if my tummy hurt or go to one with facilities. Tracks are the opposite of a hit-and-run. Goes back to my original point, people need to be smart about shtting. I've never gotten in trouble and I never will.
Tracks are built for people to run on. And when you have to do a workout, you will most likely need to go in advance or even between intervals, lest the workout be bad, especially when you have to drive an hour before or after. That's why they have restrooms at tracks. When those restrooms are not open, it creates situations that you avoid by keeping them open. Running itself, as you should know, gets things moving in this direction. So, if the bathrooms outside are locked during the day, what are you going to do? Naturally, go inside the nearby building. If you're running through the hallway, it is presumably to get back to the workout as quickly as possible. No high schoolers would be in danger because of it. After all, they are not accompanied at every step out in public or at games, right? They do encounter others. No harm, no foul, but leave the tracks and track bathrooms open so that the tracks fulfill the purpose for which they were created. And recall that the purpose is a social good, a healthier populace and thus greater longevity and lower health care costs for everyone.
There is none. He made it up. Many here just want to pin the track dumps on the French to deflect.
Lol. There are quite literally people talking in French in comments of the Wesfly instagram, one of them says "this is all a misunderstanding" from a French Canadian who was at Sedona recently.
Why say misunderstanding, rather than "we didn't do it."
But to do so on a high school campus when you have no functional business there is weird. Especially during school hours. Sure, it's an outgrowth of few available public tracks. You just don't see other pro athletes so reliant on finding access to high school facilities, which were built and are maintained primarily if not exclusively for the use of high school students. And has been observed here scores of times, you don't need a track to get in a workout. Ever.

jesus christ people. Picture this - your 25 year old elite runner is clicking off k repeats, she feels something building in his bowels, but he's at the training session with his teammates. After the next recovery, she realizes, she's got to go - runs over to the bathroom and its getting really bad, this is going to come out one way or another. Bathroom is locked -she'll run over to the porta jon by the soccer fields - it is gone/taken away after the weekend tournament/locked up/completely covered in crap/being lived in by the homeless - chose your own scenario. Looks around, no other options, there aren't any businesses nearby that would be open, there aren't even any woods around. She's going to try to hold it and continue the workout. After missing a rep, she hops back in. This next rep isn't going so well, he's way behind Sam, taco Shelly, Greek Alexi, and Mary, the other runners in her pace group. Hell, 600 meters in she doesn't know if she can finish the rep, something is coming out of her one way or the other. And then its a move to lane 8.
This is just one of who knows how many scenarios. And sure your runner is guilty of public indecency, lewdness, everything else you can think of - but isn't a bit different than some French Canadian pooping on the track because he thinks its funny.
Can someone (hint: J Gault) just submit an open-records request to the school district asking for all emails or correspondence that: (a) discusses any event(s) that gave rise to decision to ban non-school (i.e., public) members from the track on or after February 2022 or (b) otherwise memorialize the reason(s) for restricting access to the track on or after February 2022?

Unfortunately, there are many who will disagree that school tracks are intended as a public good. They'll view the track as exclusively a training aparatus for their athletes, not the public. Or the benefits of the track stop after their practices end. This is why so many tracks are locked up, in bad condition, or have a lack of basic facilities (why would the students need a bathroom at the track when they can just go to the locker room for the school that views the track as solely for its students).
I guess I sympathize with those involved a little, I used to do my workouts at a soccer complex (no tracks accessible to me) and found that outside of certain hours all the bathrooms suddenly started getting locked one day. I tried a bunch of port a potties all while things were getting worse, all locked lest the homeless move in or something. My workout was ruined and I barely made it the 3 mile jog home. If I'd further to get there or ridden with a friend, who knows what would have had happened.

It’s important to have a good pooping route. I’ve got mine. Quite the godsend.
As much as I would like to agree with this, there is no way this could happen. Track doesn't make enough money for people to warrant the expense of building a new facitlity just for the sport. I would love to see it but I can't imagine it would ever happen. That's why they need to use infastrucure already in place. I would like to see track get big enough to the point they can do such things but at the moment, not going to happen, at least in the US
