Too slow through the first few laps. I think they might have been able to get it were they to open up a few ticks faster.
laps 3-5 too slow
Were the pacers too slow and kinda in the way? Cool to see, but seemed so low key. Great race for all three especially Morgan
Don’t think so, but when it counted most Hocker beat him at 3,000. It’s a closer rivalry than people think though because Teare is a way better 1500/mile guy than people think.
pace was too slow
Thanks for streaming that. Fast dudes.
Agreed. Will be curious to see if Teare will do the 1500 or 5000 at USAs outdoors.
Great race--and the Spartan nearly stole the show!
he did, but that was a slow 2400, fast 600 as I recall (coming off the mile)
Beadlescomb and Mario garcia romo now have the top two times in the ncaa. Beadlescomb will run sub 13:10 outdoors. Betting on that as long as he stays healthy
Great race. With better pacing they both would have gone under the record easily. Cooper needs to move down to the 1500.
Why didn't 2 or 3 more ncaa guys enter this race? Morgan just got a 9 second pr
Think you are right on NCAA 3k. Official splits aren’t as bad as they were saying on feed. More like 1:56 high/1:57 for 880. Think if the pacer had run a few tenths faster on lap 5 they might’ve just got it. Both guys don’t look to be at full sharpness for their last 200 (I think they can close low 26s when they are) but they’re making 28-29 laps look easy.
its a new meet and i think other teams already had other plans. Vandy had a super fast mile just before this and BU will have some tomorrow
Better pacing they both would have been under 3:50. Excited to see them dual in the 1500. Guessing they both can scare sub 13 this spring?
Thanks Letsrun for letting us watch for free!
It looks like Tears form is much more tight and controlled, while Hocker is flailing a bit.
lol, I could not help to notice that as well, every second counts.
reed was talking 440y on the OT&F insta feed, but I assume the first split was 209m and everything after that was 200m, so the splits are actually 809m/800m which makes the pacing not seem quite as bad
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
