Yeah the 10,000 hour rule doesnt really apply to running as much as cognitive skills like chess.

Yes, you are.
Ok, can you explain if/how running 10,000 hours is needed to acquire running mastery? Thanks.
You think elite T & F athletes spend 1 hour/day training??? Eating Bon Bons for the other 23?

Julie-Anne Staehli (8:43) also under the previous Canadian indoor 3000m record of 8:46.

Ok, I see what you are including. Stretching, cross training, weights, recovery, drinking electrolytes, meditation, visualization, even sleep. All of those things necessary to master the skill of running. Probably need a lot more than 10,000 hours in that case.

What happened to Bromell?
Stopped checking the thread after the meet really got rolling so probably a bit late, but it just looked like he was totally gassed, it looked like he did have an inhaler at one point. But didn’t look injured

WTF is the tattoo she has on her arm? It looks like someone gave a couple crayons to a child and let her just scribble. Seriously, does anyone know what it is?

My view is that good running technique (not distance running fitness, but the technique of running) is naturally achieved by most children, and then it takes about 10,000 hours of working an office job and living a first world adult lifestyle to acquire the skill of overstriding and shuffling. That describes me anyway.
