My (wo)man Mitch has the most accurate list of true contenders I've seen.
Are you a Hoosier? Didn't Mitch Daniels run for governor?

maybe the 8th and 9th are freshmen or sophomores and the coach wants to get them some experience in big races.

Why would Rowbury want to shake Horowitz? That's her teammate and they have been working extremely well together pushing the pace and front running their races. In fact, they have come in #1 & 2 in every cross country race they ran this season.
Duke's primary objective is to win the team title. They will do whatever they can to make that happen. That means working together in packs and helping and motivating each other along the way.
Go Duke!
wommack won south region by a good margin and didn't look anywhere close to being phased. im damn sure when she puts the hammer down the other ladies wont know what hit them.

20 sec over a recovering Homan isn't a great gauge of how wommack is going to do. Wommack is a sure top 20 but since she hasn't ran against anyone other than Homan, she cannot be the favorite. You still got to go with Mitchell and Beirbaum.
The race will definitely be a close and interesting affair, but this has to be the weakest womens field for years. Lets hope some of the freshman and juniors can perform well and continue the rise of womens distance running in the US.
women's fields are always weak

Compared to what - men's fields?
Compared to previous years you retards, not compared to the mens fields. It's a given that womens running is weak compared to mens. But the current crop of women are not in the same league of those the previous 5yrs or so.
MOLLY HUDDLE
You're the retard.
I hope your post stroked your pathetic male ego.
Get over yourself, please!
The top line women are slightly down this year, but the depth is very, very good this year.
I will also go with Molly Huddle, with Arie Lambie second. Huddle has the most natural talent of anyone out there at the 6k distance. NOT Bierbaum.
yeah, maybe a molly huddle who wasn't injured half of 2005. this molly huddle is still getting back into her groove. i mean, shit she died at prenationals over the last 3k. i think she'll be back in form around outdoor track though.

OK, well the truth is there isn't the depth in womens cross country as there is in the mens. No biggie, just the truth and you can only beat who's there so don't get all upset. The main issue all along though is that this year is weak. Smith, Flanagan, Fleshman, Craig, Austin, O'Neil would smash any of the current girls based on their college performances.
Bierbaum will win and she is pretty attractive, but she will have to break some other tough girls, which she is very capable of doing.
If your gauge on how weak this year's field is is based on the athletes you mentioned, then it is not a weak field. I agree with you that Smith, Flanagan and Fleshman were competing at a much higher level against NCAA collegiate competition. However, if you are including Craig, Austin and O'Neill as your comparison then the current womens cross country field is by no means weak.
I personally think it's an insult for you to write on this message board that the current crop of top cross country runners are weak. Give them the credit they deserve for their accomplishments.
If you can't say anything positive, please go to one of the many male oriented threads on this website and insult your fellow male athletes.
Wommack is my call. She is tough, at outdoor last year she fell down hard and still ran 10:07 to finish 5th, plus she is smoking hot.
There is never the depth in women's sport compared to men's sport - which is a reverse of a second truth: a dominant woman supercedes her competitors by a greater margin than does a man.
In other words, a woman champion is usually more exceptional to her peers than is a man.
Who has the best #1 & #2 combo
Duke- Rowberry and Horowitz
Colorado - Bolf and Prazcutto
Stanford- Lambie and McWaters
Columbia - Bierbaum and Stublic
Notre Dame - Madea and Huddle
Either Duke or Colombia..tough one though!!!!!!
