GOTTA GET THE SERVANTS BACK IN THE RESTAURANTS WORKING FOR TIPS AND MAKING THE OWNERS RICH. THIS STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION IS GOOD AND DESIRABLE.
I lived in one of these ski towns and I have seen it all.
Town boards kicked the can down the road. Employee housing was almost never build and if so, if was never enough. No these ski towns realize that employees don't grow on trees and they are not coming anymore just because it's so nice. Why? Because the rent is so frikk'in expensive.
Just a couple of weeks ago I heard that somebody tried to hire somebody for a well paid position in Breckenridge. At the end the potential employee declined because he couldn't see who he was making it work.
Today you have Zillow and all these other online tools where you can see real quick how much rent in an area is supposed to be. There are no surprises anymore.
The surprise is on the towns side when they can't fill many positions anymore.
What actually needs to happen is, that people need to get paid a full living wage and that might be trifold in a ski town from what it is now.

Excellent video which describes pretty much every US ski town or it's surroundings.
Cameo by Rojo?
“Second home owners are your neighbors”
NOTHING is undiscovered anymore. Get used to seeing more people around you. I used to live in Portland until 2006, glad I left cuz it is development on steroids. The west is and was the best place to be but you have to realize that people want something better, and that is it. It's like when I grew up in Oregon. The saying was "Don't Californicate Oregon". Worked for awhile until CA became unbearable for a lot of folks. Nothing inexpensive in Oregon anymore. I don't have any sympathy for whiners who come from NY or CA. Deal with it.
Left wingers always want to solve “problems” with someone else’s money.
Step 1. Get a place in gunny
Step 2. Quit f*cking crying
Step 3. Go ski
Step 4. Go make ‘friends’ with the daughter of an investment banker from Connecticut.
Step 5. Quit f*cking crying.
They should move to southern California. No one works from home anymore here. F'cking traffic man.
And now the short sighted wealthy are struggling with the fact that the ski resorts may stay closed because no one wants to run the lifts, man the ticket booth, teach their crotchfruit, or make lattes, cocktails, and sandwiches for minimum wage. Plus, no low paid worker wants to commute an hour plus each way on icy roads to service the gentry. Oh, how I feel for the rich and the poor resort owners! If only they could afford a solution?
Right wingers think it’s okay for corporations to steal labor & other materials
There are more important concerns than those shared by beverage and dining industry.

The resort ain’t closing homie. Hate to break to you.
I’ll bet you don’t complain about Biden, Obama, or the Clintons or Gore or Pelosi, or even old Bernie being rich and living large with lavish parties and servants scraping and bowing to all of them.
ski towns and other desirable locations just put a magnifying glass on how bad income inequality has gotten in the US. the rojo lookalike can have a second or third home in crested butte, put it on airbnb or whatever for passive income when he's not there, but the dudes making his overpriced pizza live in trucks? and yet in the interview the pizza guy kind of shrugs it off. this is why we need class consciousness to make a comeback here in burgerland. what do you say, fellow runner anons? are you ready to join hands with your fellow workers and bathe the streets in the blood of the bourgeoisie?

Income equality is a communist concept
Communism is evil. We are against communism.

For sure the slacker “pizza guy” deserves the same amount of money as the surgeon or the successful businessman or lawyer or top engineer.

You may type that. I am sure you are for Socialism, if you will admit it or not.
* If you are at or near retirement age, you are for Socialism.
* If you have parents in their 70's, you are for Socialism. Without socialist programs, you would be supporting your parents and paying your parents medical bills. Of course I am assuming your parents are not 1/2 billionaires or billionaires.
* If you are past age 40 with wife and kids, you worry if your employer sponsored healthcare will cover you all and you worry about out of pocket costs. If you are in the demographic I stated, your life would be better under Socialism.
* If you are a single mother which I doubt or if you have young kids in day care, your life would be better under Socialism.
* If you are a college student and not receiving 100% scholarship plus books and room & board, your life would be better under Socialism.
* Poster, if you are a 1/2 billionaire or billionaire, your life is worse under Socialism. I doubt you are a 1/2 billionaire or billionaire.
Don't come on this site and say the world, "We." Type your opinion and leave it that.
My country, the USA has rightfully spent billions of dollars and thousands of lives fighting the evils of communism. So I say we.
You sound like the enemy.
