It's obvious.
As children, Kenyans clearly all live 800m to 1500m from their schools, and Ethiopians live 5000m to 10000m from their schools.

I'm leaving out the steeple here, although that's obviously Kenya.
Isn't it weird? Kenya is the best country in the world in the 800 and 1500 (at least for men
Kenya is not the best in the world at 1500m.
Both Kiprop's and Manangoi's performances should be discounted.
GB is superior to Kenya currently, and only one more doping bust and they'd be behind Norway, Australia, USA...
More Kenyans in top 10, 50 100, 200 than Brits. Then it's tending toward the Brits, which reflects the fact, that some average Kenyan just doesn't have the luxery to invest many hours a week to run 3:42 and get a few hundred dollars out of it.
Kenys is the nr. 1 1500m country since many years.
Kenya is the nr. 1 1500m country since many years.
The reason Kenya is poor in the 5K asd 10K is because all their best talent goes to the roads. In 2021, 8 of the top 10 half marathon times are by Kenyans. See the link below.
Uganda and Ethiopia do better on the track because their athletes are heavily rewarded for winning medals. Kenyan runners get little from their government so they don't bother with track events. Its not worth it.

That's not even a country.
Rift Valley >>> Scotland.
IQ of 157 and you can't give a valid answer?
Kenya is by far the best country (men and women) in the 1500m since decades.
I'm pretty sure a Norwegian won the 1500.

And so Norway is the best country in the 1500m ?
I think it's just question of tradition and historic circumstances Kenyan lost take in the 1500m. Because there was a guy (Aouita) that changed the course of stream of middle distances in the 80s (I'm sure if there wasn't Aouita the world would have never seen runners like Morocelli and El G.).
I strongly believe that Kenyans can achieve anything from 800m to Marathon. And there is this factor of population (100 millions for Ethiopia and 50 millions for Kenyan) that plays his role.
I'm happy that runners of my country are ranking second and third (after Kenyan/Ethiopians) in the world in Marathon in the end of this year like we have seen in Barcelone and New York marathons.
