Lara ran approx, 60:55, so I was close to my prediction which I had posted yesterday of 60:30-60:55. Lara finished like a steam train and almost caught the Spanish first place runner Mayo....

As a male let’s run misogynist that was inspiring
Simultaneous 5k/10k and 15k/half WR holder. Looks like she could jog the full marathon WR if she wanted
Gidey as a chance to become the first sub 2:10:00 female marathon runner..... Stratospheric monster... With quasi perfect bio mechanics....
indeed.

What does that convert to? A 2:12?
She has one of the most beautiful stride I have ever seen. She is so beautiful when she runs.
no quasi here...
That was incredible. They had live GPS tracking every .01 miles for this race too, we need to see the data. So annoying that Gidey was not in the tracking system the whole time
She motioned to pacers very early to get going. Good on them for going for it with/for her

2:11 mid-high. Just insane.

62:49 half for women is a 1326 score on iaaf scoring tables
That same score translates to a marathon of 2:11:11

It really was beautiful. Even the light around her was more beautiful and unobstructed cause she had no competition.

I can just agree with you here Ghost1! Gidey looks to be the ultimate bio mechanics running form for a female.
So effective and beautiful stride and form......
With this 1:02:50 she has the potential to run a marathon at least 2 x 1:02:50 + 5 min = 2:10:40 !! Absolutely insane!!
Move the needle? Gidey just shattered the gauge with that run. Yehualaw ran under 64 minutes and still lost by over a minute, that's truly insane.
I was thinking the same. She runs beautifully.
What a performance.
Gidey splits according to tracking & live broadcast:
5K: 15:00 (1:03:17 pace)
10K: 29:45 (1:02:45 pace)
15K: 44:29 (1:02:33 pace)
Finish: 1:02:50 ish
The splits are glitching out so I'm not sure how accurate

Yes, and please factor in that women have the physiological advantage of running better over longer distances such as the marathon compared to their native speed over 5000 and 10,000 m. For example, so many Japanese women who are around 1530 to 16 minutes for 5000 m who ran the marathon in two hours and 23 minutes or better.
Gidey has this potential: 13:55, 28:50, 2:10:30. Absolute monster with pristine form. She appears so reserved and introverted in demeanor. Hopefully this run and others will set her up for life, financially and otherwise. She deserves everything. When I was watching her run I was reflecting that there are a few Kenyan female runners who run like that with that type of classic perfect form. I’m thinking this is an advantage that often Ethiopian female runners have over Kenyan female runners and this is no diss female Kenyan runners but just an observation. For example, when you see someone like Helena Obiri run, even though she has run magnificent times like 1418 for 5000 m, her form does not look at all like this Ethiopian lady and I’m thinking that this might present a slight or significant disadvantage in the long run.
That run by Gidey was so amazing, I’m all giddy with excitement!

Probably so.
