Kipchoge’s form is a thing of beauty. His slow motion footstrike is mesmerizing.

What’s to note is they aren’t running the shuffle the entirety of the run.
They shuffle for 5-10 mins then progress to close at a 5:30 mile. Dig deeper into the twitter thread and you’ll find this out.
That´s the part that the LRC crowd doesn´t want to hear. They want to have an excuse for running all of their non workout mileage super slow so they can reach the magical 100mpw too.
Are we believing everything from Sweat Elite now? A lot of what was posted in the logs a few years ago weren't totally acurate.
Nice videos.
Kenyan shuffle at 86 steps/minutes ...
So a Kenyan shuffle is what my running style is called.
slow down the easy runs wrote:
For me it was high school. Hammering all my runs even my warm ups and cool downs. Never improved much after the initial year of training. But after high school didn't make any teams so was working and doing school, so I was dead tired when I would go running. And started just shuffling my runs super slow and easy and started just doing two workouts a week. Usually either a fartlek or tempo runs finished with some hill reps that took about a minute to do. The result, after dropping my easy runs by 2+ minutes or slower I split a new 5k PB en route in a 10k where I negative split the second half.
Holy crap man, nice. What was your PB beforehand and then the 5k splits of the 10k?

Gone through this, it is a gem, thanks!
Very enlightening, what they do.
Beautiful pictures from Kaptagat, even (especially) the non-running ones. When/where will the article drop?

Naw it isn't the vertical oscillation. Too much emphasis on the wrong syllable. Don't look at the profile. Look at him straight on. Little horizontal oscillation. What head movement that occurs there is between his hips. Pay attention to the hobby joggers at your local event. Their heads look like windshield wipers. Don't be a windshield wiper.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
