I often wonder if the shoe rules would look different (40mm stack height, single plate) if a shoe company other than Nike had first come up with the Vaporfly. I get the feeling Nike have a lot of clout in the athletics world, even Seb Coe was still being paid by Nike when he became the WA president (no conflict of interest he said).
What really got me was that when they finally brought in some rules they matched exactly with the specifications of the Alphafly, which was about to be released.
