The biggest attribute to training at altitude isn't just the training. It's the living at altitude. You need to live at altitude to develop more red blood cells to carry oxygen. This is why some people who have lived at altitude as well as their parents, grandparents, and so on before them do so well in endurance events. Their past generations have lived at altitude and now they are as well.
