This just like 01 when Ndereba dropped me.
I can find marathon pace on even the live trackinf website. This is annoying

Pictorial evidence of Ruth Chepngetich leading Chris Derrick.
She hit 5k in 15:37, which is 2:11 pace!
https://twitter.com/jgault13/status/1447182606261440513Who is Ruth's official pacer. Is he a guy that can handle 2:14:00 pace in this heat for a long time. It looks like she and her pacer have dropped Derrick and his pack -- they are not in the frame anymore.
The pacesetter just dropped and she is running with Derrick's pack. It looks like she was actually just behind Derrick's pack when I said they were out of the frame.
One thing no one is talking about. The wind.
There is a huge tail wind for the first 8 miles.
Wind is bigger deal at the start than 69 degrees.
8 through 15 will be largely into the wind. and 17 through 23.
Tail wind on the way from the home.
Gonna be some major blow ups..... this is way too hot pace and weather
75 is warm indeed. And with the wind? Could see some drama later esp. if that sun breaks through.
Ruth C. is going to bonk so hard that an American might actually win this.

FYI, we always put that up on the front page.

Damn straight she is.
Only if she wins will it be on “Pure Hate.”
Pacemakers are cheating! Should not be allowed in major ‘Thons and ultras.
Footage from lead guy and chasing pack is pretty cool. Too bad we have no time for this sh-t. Cue cut to butt-shaking dudes in stretchy pants.
gotta distract from steroid use in btc somehow.
surprised at these hot starts. as they get to the most exposed parts of the course they will be feeling the headwinds im sure. we'll see if the sun makes an appearance too. feeling bad for the late starters and 4+ hour finishes being out there in 80 w/ sun
Rupp off the back? Pacing himself?
