Some of you all are acting like being a vlogger is some kind of lifetime commitment that will lead to ruin if you try it and fail. Chill out. Life isn't that serious.
If you're in your 20s and you think being a "content creator" sounds like fun, why not give it a shot? If it ends up being lucrative, great. If not, move on to something else. "99% won't make a career out of it"? Ok, so what? Is it a terrible thing to spend a year or two of your entire life doing something that you won't make a career out of? I took a year off between undergrad and med school, and spent a big chunk of the year traveling around Europe. Was this a bad choice because I wasn't going to make a career of traveling around Europe? I sure don't think so. And even if it was a complete waste of time (which I don't think it was), I certainly don't see why any rando on the internet or grumpy comedian would need to have an opinion about it.
And the complaint that they aren't doing something "productive" is dripping with entitlement. No one owes it to you to do a job that you consider to be productive.
