It's a time-old tradition for track and field fans to complain about how bad the tv converage of races is. It's always amazed us how nearly every major marathon broadcast seems to miss "the break" but we may have found a winner for "worst track broadcasting decision in history."
From an Athletics Weekly article on Charlotte Purdue who was in France during the Olympics training for the London Marathon .
It was hard to totally avoid the Olympics, though. “It was on French TV and the internet we had wasn’t great so we couldn’t stream anything,” she says. “We wanted to watch some things like the women’s 800m but when we put it on French TV they went to an ad break at the end of the first lap! So we couldn’t see the second lap.”
Anyone from France on here? That's crazy if true. Can you confirm?
