So I’m at that point in life which I know many of you have been in. Trying to balance running with full time work and family and such.
Mid 30s and really only can/willing to run 4 times a week. I can make two 7 miles during work week but more takes too much time away from family and house. Then the wife can’t workout and has to do everything when she works full time too. Also usually tired after work so run them slow.
Weekends get in more (usually about 35 miles/week on 4 runs total). But have trouble doing a long run and hard run back to back. So been only doing one or other. Also will be pushing a stroller on some as wife and I rotate that duty. But always have one free day a weekend to do whatever run I want.
Mostly race 10k and half marathons (when I can). So family runners in your 30s, what’s best?? I know doing more is better. But I just don’t have that. So if choosing, how do I make my 1 day a week work best for a long/hard run??
Again, adding in more runs and such doesn’t work. For my body and commitments and all, I have 1 day a week. So what do I do with that run??? I dont expect to PR. Just hold on as best I can.
Thanks!
