Yes, there are people who know, but they probably won't post on let's run. There are a couple of guys who might be ready to go for Harvard for the first time this season. Waiting to see if they show for Heps, or Regionals, or not at all...

Gibby has always had a high rate of injury and burnout
The live results website has the entries listed for both races.

And Colin Baker is listed for Harvard. Doesn't mean he will race, as coaches have put on all potential names in order to not necessarily give away their racing tactics (I remember Brown used to use Natalie Schudrowitz a few years ago even though she hadn't raced all season, and she ended up not racing Heps. I think she ended up redshirting the season).

An interesting item I noticed is that Columbia has 10 men listed as Freshmen on their entries. Obviously some of this may be Covid related with some athletes being sophomores based on graduation class and retaining FR eligibility. But still pretty wild to see such a young team for a program that used to be quite competitive. It's wild they don't have any other upperclassmen who can race. And even if some of these athletes are in the second year on campus for all 10 it will be their first Heps. Definitely something interesting to watch on Saturday.
Nice to have Live Results but sad to not have video.
Many conferences do - as do many HS states.
My local 5K ‘s timing company at least had a finish video link to see all finishers.
Please post if anyone has links to video afterwards.

You mean like social media videos? I think that would be the most likely source at this point.
The Princeton course doesn't really have many optimal video locations, or even spectating locations beyond near the start/finish line. The conference is usually behind by a few years when it comes to social media innovation or media coverage (their meet "preview" is atrocious for this year; they just do a list of "people to keep an eye on" which is one person per squad, with no team recaps really other than who last competed at NCAA XC in 2019) as XC isn't a high priority for the conference higher ups.
I haven't been on this thread all y ear. Sorry there will be no epic 5,000+ word preview as there was a few years back. I just don't know enough about it. But this thread cracks me up. The hypocrisy.

You mean the older foreign guys that Iona gets because they can't develop American kids. If you can't coach, go foreign.
Develop? The first few posts on this thread were all about the recruiting classes that Harvard gets.
I don't get why when a coach brings in super stud Americans it's called development, but when they bring in dark skinned guys from overseas it's called "going foreign". The reality is all of the top teams in the country get stud recruits. What do you want Iona to do? Not be good? Americans don't want to go to school there.
In the Ivy League, on the men's side, given the recruiting and the strong coaches in charge, the honest fact is Princeton/Harvard should win almost every single year. This year is no exception.
When I was coaching at Cornell, I actually was hoping someone super accomplished and good like Gibby would go to Harvard as I was hoping it would dilute Princeton's talent advantage. At the time, Cornel had never had a sub-9 recruit in school history and Princeton had 8 or 9 on its roster. Good luck beating that. I haven't been paying close attention to it but I'm not sure I've seen any signs of the Tigers being diluted. They appear to be getting the same super studs. If anything, maybe the stud that used to go to another Ivy now goes to Harvard and the rest of the league is down?
The talent levels of the P and H rosters is crazy for the men. For example, Princeton hasn't even run at all this year the guy who the Mid-Atlantic region as a freshman, Camren Fischer, and they are doing pretty well without him. Harvard hasn't run Colin Baker who was 48th in ncaa xc in 2019 and is doing pretty well as well.
I'm happy to say that i'll be driving up for the meet tomorrow. I can't wait.
Good luck to all.

Iona's foreign recruits are mostly Canadian and UK and almost exclusively white, but I agree with your point in general

I think he meant that Cornell had never recruited anyone who previously ran sub-9 before attending Cornell. Grant ran that 8:54 while at Cornell.
No, he ran it in high school, it is the NYS Section V record

I can probably live stream it on the letsrun facebook / twitter pages with my phone as I run around. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for 'broadcasting'. I'd promise I'd do it but it might take away from some of the fun as I don't want private conversations I have with people on the course to be heard. I guess I could just mute it.
Not sure about the foreign jab either..by the way 3:43 1500m foreigner for Princeton in my understanding won't be running HEPS Must have a strong team to sit a quality runner like that.
Ok. I'll probably try to stream some of it.
If you don't see it below, then It's cause I didn't like the setup and decided to go just on twitter.

Thanks. This is good stuff
Colin Baker is not racing today.
Congrats to the Harvard women and Princeton men on the team titles, to Kayley Delay (Yale) defending her individual title, and Matt Pereira (Harvard) on winning his first individual title.
