No sub 44 second 400m man have ever had a 100m PB of sub 9.85. Fred's 200m PB isn't even conducive of his 100m speed and 400m strength. He certainly is capable of slightly faster in the 300m and right training he should be able to threaten the 400m WR. I wish him the best.

We knew he was likely working on his speed this year. Who is his coach? He may still need to adjust his 400m-specific training.
I'm wondering where he stands now point-wise in the 100/200/400 combination spectrum. Earlier this year, Track and Field News had a good article about Michael Norman and the other multi-event guys but that was before Kerley put down those great sprint marks. I would like to see what the numbers look like now.
It will be good to see Wade van Niekerk return back to full speed along with the others for the World Championships. Maybe something special will happen with the WR.
