I think if he get a better lane at the Olympic final with a better semi final. He has a chance for gold.
Is he clean?
Where was this in Tokyo? Seems like Lyles is just another terrible choker.
19.52 on a clearly fast track (herah 10.54) and nice and windy all day (mens 100 illegal win). ADG 19.62 WITH 5 races under his belt the week leading up superior.

Bad lane bad race, you can't have it every day.
He didn't choke in 2019
Furthermore - ADG had -0.5 in Tokyo and Lyles had +1.5 in Eugene which actually makes ADG time faster wind corrected!!
ADG also had to run 5 races prior to olympic Final!

He got a bronze medal in 19.74 from a terrible lane!
He made a dumb mistake in the semi’s, but top 3 isn’t choking.
Bromell, Lyles, Norman, Holloway. They all let the pressure impact them.
He looked himself again, 100%. That was great to see. Andre DeGrasse ran very, very well in the 100m with +2.9m/s, so this was in his range as well, but he was not in the race, so all credit to Lyle. 19.52 is flying.
Norman isn't in good shape, bromell isn't in good shape.
Holloway and Lyles made technical errors not necessarily caused by pressure.

Yeah I don’t understand how people can call him a choker when he won 2 golds at the World Championships and a bronze at the Olympics. Choking would be failing to medal or make the final at all in my opinion.
I don’t know if Lyles season is done, but I hope we get to see him versus De Grasse in the 200 meter final in Zurich. Those 2 plus Bednarek and I think we might see some really fast times.
What about gatlin in the 100m in 2015? He came second but that is considered a choking performance
This is what happens when you don't expend yourself on stupid, pointless rounds. All races should have no more than two rounds. Prelims and finals. No semis. Yes, there are theoretically people that can make it through and break a record the final night. But the 200 is 3 days in a row, no days off. Some athletes can't handle it as well.

Choking is underperforming because of nerves. If without nerves you'd have had gold instead of bronze then it's a choke.
