Geez…he was never a factor. Tough indeed.
Feel very sorry for him. Battered and barged for the first lap and couldn't get into position. Was never getting there first being DFL after a 53 high first lap
Stupid race, shoulda made a move with 300 to go to get into position, not gonna pass the field in the last 100 off of that pace.
When it’s that slow a pace you have to get up front. Just a fatal mistake between 200-500 to get further up.

I think the first couple of rounds cost him more than some of us thought.
He looked tight in his shoulders the whole race.

Gave a few shoves near the front and then somehow dropped to last place. Tough race for Murphy

Yup, the top 4 finishers were all in the top 5 with a lap to go. Nobody really changed positions too much except Amos fading.
All that pushing and scratching got him nowhere

This
His head went when he got involved in all the shoving at the start. Opportunity lost for him, and Amos as well. I'm not sure what happened to him, he was well placed and has strong 400 speed. Low quality race overall, especially compared to the women's 800 yesterday
Each time the arrogance is wiped I'm for it.
Looked to me like he just had a flat day. I don’t think he had the legs no matter the tactics he used.
Embarrassing performance for Murphy. It’s an Olympic final, get your head in the game. Going out dead last, 15m back from the lead at 400m off a slow pace is a shameful effort.
Our US women need to teach our scared, passive men a thing or two

Where do you go when you need a hole to crawl in...
Murphy and Tuka did f*** all in the race.
The pace at 400m was perfect for Tuka's finishing kick.
Tactical acumen right up there with Maggie Vessey.
