I don't know where he's going to college and I don't know why no one else is talking about it, but Will Sumner just broke Strymar Livingston's 1:01.7 500m national record from 2012, by almost half a second with a 1:01.25 that showed a lot of late speed (49-400m then 12.2s close) and he's got the build for the 800-1600m (a 47.01 400m runner already). Livingston also set the 600m national record of 1:17.58 that year. Sumner is running a 600m next week, where he should be able to get close to that record, 1:17-18. Then he is targeting the GA state 800m record. He's run 1:52 this season. I predict sub-1:50.
He has some tremendous range. His older sister, Brynne Sumner, was also a killer late in XC, 1600, and 800 races. Believe she is at Villanova now. Also, will is committed to Uga

McDonnell should upgrade the back end of their XC squad. With Arkansas graduating some folks could their be a change at the top of W XC? None of my business but I have been curious why she chose U of A. She could have gone many places. A family connection maybe?
