He was trying to rip the R off his singlet so that it would read “NO WAY”
His first reaction was, "act surprised" , like Jeter when she ran 9.6 something
It's a very good 400m WR.
400m hurdles WR

Both great records. But imagine going out in the first 200 meters of a 400m hurdles super fast and continuing that torrid pace for another 200 meters Joey Chestnut did that. He went out in the first 200 (first 5 minutes) eating about 38 hot dogs AND BUNS! and proceeded to run the last 200 meters (5 minutes) closing in an incredible 37 hot dogs for 78 final hot dog time. 45.94 is incredible but check back when Warlhom is doing the equivalent of 83 hot dogs. Will be waiting
Bob Beamon's WR is still the greatest.Still #2 after 53 years.
The Powell's men' long jump and Sotomayor's high jump
world records will still be on the books in 2050.
All this talk about scoring tables and comparisons with other distances is pretty meaningless as the tables are based on known performances to date. The hurdles is less hotly contested than other distances so less likely to have had as decent times run. This just brings it more on parity with the other track events. And I won't even mention super spikes! It would still have broken the 92' record however with or without super spikes admittedly.
This 400H record is in my top 3 but I still feel like 19.19 is the top of the mountain.
Warholm doesn't use super spikes. I'm not allowed to post links, but google "Karsten Warholm criticises super spikes as threat to track and field ‘credibility’"
I’ve never been a sprinter, but isn’t front running the entire 800 for a WR at the Olympics more impressive? I get pumped up every time I watch Rudisha’s London run.
Warholm’s race was fantastic and great to see Benjamin fighting for it, so it’s definitely a top 5 for me and I usually skipped the hurdle events until this Olympics.
I think for the average viewer, Bolts 9.69 while celebrating before the finish was the most memorable in recent history.
The greatest world record was when Haile Gebrselassie ran 12:44 for 5000m. That was a 12 second improvement on the previous world record.
Warholm could EASILY win the 400m and 800m in this Olympics. Easily!!!
Oh wait, I'm wrong. In fact, he could win very easily.
Those who don't understand this not only don't understand anything about Athletics, they also don't understand anything about Math.
Always wait at least one calendar year before deciding if an event was in fact the best ever.
Good, but not 9.58, 7:20.67 or 1:40.91 wire-to wire good.
A very great race! Well deserved.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
