That race was incredible! I’m glad Dalilah has rounded back into good enough form to push her, and I think the Olympics will be quite the treat.

This also suggest she is in around 49 mid shape which would make her one of the top 400m dash sprinters in the world.
She is always in mid 50 's shape.
Not enough has been said about her hurdle improvement and her coach's preparation.
She was running all the 100h with different lead legs earlier in the year.
All that happened here is she alternated perfectly through 200 then got her game on. Her last 100 has always been stronger than DM.
Now she has got this out of the way she will go on to better things.
I would suspect 99% of the world does not think an athlete who was world class at age 16 is doping at age 21. I would suspect 99% of the world could not name her coach and when it comes doping are only concerned about whether Sydney is coaching.

Letsrun really do be shooting a shotgun from the hip
There were fools on here saying that just was basically Lo Lo Jones and should just cut the track charade and go straight to modeling.
Some called her experiment with the short hurdles as a means of milking money out of the sponsors for little works. Kersee had a method to his madness though, and it seems to be working.
Dalilah Muhammad probably has past her prime. She could have golded in the Olympics if they were held in 2020.
My opinion of SM changed 180 this year. She appeared ready to bring it and her demeanor was all business. Still, the picture that I will take from these trials is Sydney, post record, sitting in stunned disbelief on the ground with DM bending down over her and congratulating her opponent. It doesn't get better than this

she is past her prime, she'll be 31 at some point this year with Sydney only being able to order a Tito's cran just last year.
but i dont think Dalilah will ever be any disappointed in her career. olympic gold, world gold, national champion, world record -back to back both hers- and was able to hold off Sydney in the one season where their natural progressions converged (and add to that, against all odds based on many letsrunners' wishes-for some weird reason). Sydney has clearly taken that one step ahead that Dalilah just wont be able to, yet given how much she's achieved i think her new reality will be all the less disappointing.
It is not often you get two competitors in the same event, at the same time in which are both incredibly talented, hard working, upbeat attitudes,........
It is hard to pull for one over the other so seeing some of it go back and forth to an extent is refreshing.

Been watching her since age group, she is doing what she has always been doing. Her body has matured some as she gotten older but certainly no more than you would expect. What would be the purpose of doping when have superior natural talent, you have won at every level and there is nothing to suggest what you are doing is out of the ordinary?
I agree with most everything you said. She had not won on EVERY level, losing to her rival who set the WR on the world scene.
If she indeed has superior natural talent, and like you I believe she does, why would you align with a guy most known for very suspicious transformations of his athletes? I wish more could see who they rub elbows with will affect how they will be viewed in the sport long-term.
I think the most logical answer as to why Sydney is working with Bobby Kersee is exactly what Sydney said it was. That she would run into him regularly because he was coaching at the same track, and through those conversations she realized that Bobby Kersee had technical expertise in the 400H that her then-current coach Joanna Hayes didn't have.
Sydney didn't want to switch coaches during an Olympic year (2020) because Bobby Kersee had some different things he wanted Sydney to try, and changes were risky with the Olympics in just a few months.
But when the pandemic hit, and the Olympics were postponed, Sydney realized she had a whole year to change her stride patterns and work on her hurdling technique, so she took that opportunity to switch coaches.
Anyone who has been watching Sydney run for a long time knows that Sydney has always had great running ability, way before starting to work with Bobby Kersee. Kersee was only needed to improve her steps and her hurdling technique. He has done that.
52.23 in 2019 plus better steps and better hurdling technique equals a time that is .33 faster - 51.90. See? No drugs needed.

Why was NNENYA
HAILEY DQ in the 400h finals

I mean she is not at the 25/26 when we get to the top. But she has still a couple of years to be in the top. I looked the video some hours ago and I found she was leading the race until the last 50 meters.
Anyway Dalila I think was the first women American Olympic Gold medalist (not?) but who was the first Olympic Gold medalist women of this distance in the world? (let me guess...).
400m Hurdles has become a "tradition" in the American Track & Field, looking at the preceding records.
Here is another example for age non counting I found:
https://cdn.almountakhab.com/uploads/node/images/2021/06/48.jpg
As I read this Jamaican at age 34 established the second fastest time in history after the time of Florence Grifith-Joyner.
Kersee is known as a coach that advocates PEDs. But hopefully Sydney is not using drugs because she has been great for a while. When I hear Kersee, Mitchell and others I think drugs.
That race was great though. It is mostly the people who are running out of their minds this season who look suspect.
A few of you are misinterpreting my stance, so I must not be making myself clear enough. I have not said SM is suspected of PED use or that she needs them to achieve what she has. I have heaped nothing but respect for her talent. I have not doubted Bobby Kersee's ability to coach or his impact on SM's hurdling technique. I have noticed a significant improvement.
What I said is that an athlete changing coaches to Kersee, Salazar, now Shumacher(sp?), Aden, Graham, Mitchell, and others who have been linked to PED's throughout their coaching careers, open themselves up to ongoing suspicion. They will struggle to achieve success without being accused by association from that point forward.
Personally, I pull for young, talented, upcoming stars to avoid those situations so that fans can better appreciate their talent and skill without screaming "drugs" at every turn.
What I insinuated is that haters

Thanks. That's funny. I typed wreak, thought it looked wrong, googled it, and the first thing that came up was "Wreak havoc," so I assumed it was right.
Now that I see "reek" it is obvious that is the word I was looking for.
Thanks for the correction
OK. I get your point. The unfortunate thing is that there are so many training groups who have had either the coach, or individual runners within the group, either test positive for a banned substance, been suspended for missing too many drug tests, or who have exhibited other suspicious behavior.
So it's rough on a young athlete, when the coach that they genuinely believe is the best coach for them, has had some kind of association with drugs in the past.
Sha'Carri Richardson is dealing with the same thing because of her coach Dennis Mitchell and her teammate Justin Gatlin, both who have been suspended for drug use.
And a friend of mine went to a college whose coach had been suspended for drugs when he was a pro, because she thought it was the best college and the best coach for her. Should she have gone to a worse college and a worse coach? These are the difficult decisions that Sydney, and other young athletes, often find themselves in.
I understand your point about possible guilt by association. But I can also understand where the athletes are coming from.
