This is the biggest misconception about thinking late evening events will solve the heat issue. Yes, the sun is down, and thanks for that, but the air temperature is still quite high. Want more manageable conditions? Early morning. Here's what they should have done: both yesterday and today start at around sunrise, with the all the distance events to begin the schedule. They'd still be able to finish everything by 10:30 a.m. I hate these people.
