So what time does that make the 800 and 1500?

I heard a heptathlete passed out.
But still this is to me a sign of USATF not having a clue. The weather is pretty much literally what has been forecast for 5 days.
Holding a heptathlon in 110 degree heat - not smart. Why wasn't that moved up?
But everything else isn't a problem to be run in the heat. I'd be worried about an official or fan passing out and then a lawsuit but not any athlete in the running events tonight.
9:30pm, 9:40pm PST.
I was just at the stadium and can confirm it's hot as balls. Luckily I got a motel tonight. 1500m at 940 pst

Great contribution, your 9:40 mile pace and some guy standing with a shovel are EXACTLY the same as the Olympic Trails athletes.
You're right. A trials athlete in their teens, 20s, 30s, is supposed to be much more ready to handle a competition no matter the conditions. That's their job.
Every attempt to further justify your statements makes you look like more of a turd.

Also- What about family members with late night flights back, who are working tomorrow? Can be worked out, but not a great arrangement. Will flights cost more? Some employers aren't flexible.
Flights get cancelled all the time anyway for all sorts of reasons, especially flights late in the day. People take that into account when scheduling their travel.
Oof. Probably a smart decision.
Gymnastics first, then! God I love hot summers—takes me back to when I was a kid watching Wide World of Sports in front of a huge floor fan blowing around sweltering humid air, while gorging on watermelon.
The best!

Here is the tweet that sums up the situation perfectly.

Remember, USATF has never done anything for the benefit of the athletes. The fat cats are sweating like the pigs they are . The schedule change is for themselves.
wow to think the meet when all this way without any controversy
That’s hard on the athletes to suddenly have to adjust to a start time two to three hours later.
How you time your eating, walking, thinking.
The temperature is EXACTLY as forecast.
I wonder if someone at track overheated and they changed course because of that.
But they easily could have announced yesterday the meet was being held at 10 am pacific. It could have been shown live on NBC.
Taliyah Brooks collapsed right after the LJ in the Heptathlon. And she was in the mix for a spot. Phuck USATF for jeopardizing the health of the athletes. They've known about the dangerous temperatures for days. They could have rescheduled yesterday and today to the morning. I hate these people.
THIS👆👆EXACTLY THIS

In the Vegas area, I do hour runs as a middle-aged man. And I don't live there either. City workers in their 40's - 50's spend all day in the heat. The events were scheduled then.
They won’t be doing 11:00 min mile pace bud.
The sprinters will probably have no problem sleeping, except for maybe Knighton😁
Was just making my way to Hayward when people started coming out. People were saying the reason was the officials were collapsing.
According to Wunderground, it'll still be around 100 degrees at 9:30, but since sun will be down, I suspect that makes it manageable. Not staying up until 1am EST to see the 1500 through.

You should cure your hatred of people.
NBC can splice together all the footage they have shown of Allyson Felix's daughter to fill the 5 hour air time now left open

Come on bro. 7pm on a Sunday night on NBC. That is some primetime viewing. No way they were gonna call it until the last minute
