Bs every runner does that. If they disqualified every runner who move out they’d disqualify almost everyone
And if that’s your definition of impeding you wouldn’t be able to move off the Kerb on the home straight if you were leading

It was a good move.
I hope Teare files a protest.

Everyone drifts a little bit that is natural, but going from 1-4 is egregious
It's not lol don't care about top 4 anyways, but you aren't allowed to push someone out past lane 2... learn the rules, he won't get DQ'D even there is clear grounds for it as it didn't affect who was making the team.
Mo Farah did this all the time. Definitely not a DQ. Honestly don't think all the looking back to check on Fisher and Kincaid helped him though. Probably would've been a bigger win if he just ran it straight in.

Seriously? This is not middle school. Team USA needs more Chelimos and Centros. Nice guys finish last….except for Grant Fisher….

Chelimo is just the worst. Impossible to route for. Seems like he should be DQ’d every race he’s in.
someone saying this is DQ want to cite the rule that he could be DQed under?

I hate when my little woody gets blocked.
No every runner does not drift 4 lanes in the last 100 while leading. If you are ever going to call it, this is about as flagrant as it gets. Clearly impeded Fisher.

Please cite the rule that specifies "lane 2"

So who picked the winner of the 5k would come from Lane 4?!?
Who picked that all 3 qualifiers would come from Lane 4?

Fisher said it was a good move and what he himself would have done in that situation.

At NCAAs, Hocker got the lead in lane 2 and then moved into lane 1 in front of Nuguse to block him. For some reason I didn't like it.
But this one I liked. Not sure why. Call me a hypocrite.
And also if everyone if veeering out it doesn't give anyone an advantage. If everyone here is running a tangent all it does is make it easier for Cooper Teare in lane 1 right?
The rule is 163-3 or 4 with 3 stating that each competitor needs to run a straight line to the finish unless another competitor is in his path

Rule 163 (3): a competitor must run in a direct line after entering the final straightaway of any race with two or more turns unless there is another runner in his or her path (paraphrased a bit).
Chelimo was in the lead, so there was no one in his path, and certainly no need for him to move from Lane 1 to Lane 4 to make his way to the finish line. He did it to obstruct the other two runners. Dirty move, especially for a guy who complained the whole race about people making incidental contact with him.

Seems like we’re vibing, Wejo. Those were my exact thoughts.
The BTC guys were going wide and Chelimo followed suit. I don’t know if you could make a clear case that any of the three were losing steam neither, they all seemed to be on top of their stride.
If Fisher tried to move back to lane one and then been blocked again, I would've been upset.
How dare he make distance races slightly more interesting.
Gave teare every opportunity to get back
Didn't happen
