Emily is the only one to PR, most ran a 1 minute slower than their PRs.

Yes, by far (at least on the track). That was so awesome.
Crouser did break a legendary WR...
Felix came back from 5th to finish 2nd in one of the 400 heats, I thought.

It actually was not a PR for Sisson. Emily Durgin did get a SB though.
watching her lap all-time greats was unbelievable.

The only thing that comes close at this Trials (on the track) is the combination of Abby Cooper's 2 races.
Sisson ran 74/75 splits along with the lead pack thru 8k, and then 72, 72, 71, 71 and 69
Schweitzer pretty much maintained 74s except for one 77 at 8800m, but closed with 68
Monson pretty much maintained 74s including last lap
Cranny broke at 8800m and started running 80 second 400s
Schneider, Hall and Rogers broke at 8000m or so, but managed to maintain 78s to 80s laps
Its like 80 degrees in Eugene. Sisson trains in Pheonix where it is much much hotter. Also grew up near Saint Louis where the summers are often 90-100 degrees with so much humidity you can practically drink the air.

Yeah, Crouser is still the most impressive performance overall, but Sisson ran a tremendous race.

You’re joking, right? If you don’t even make the team you aren’t even in the conversation. Do you know who had a better performance than Abby? Everyone that made the team.
Fantastic race! She must be thrilled to become an Olympian, to travel all the way to Tokyo, and to be lapped 2-3 times in her race!

This - 80 degrees and 50 percent humidity is considered a break from the heat in St. Louis.
The slow increase was a in tune athlete in the flow.
The hammer drop was someone in the groove and beautiful to watch.
She said the Phoenix sun trained her. I won't complain as much this summer.

Ah yes. I was waiting for this. Now everyone will be going to Phoenix to "train" instead of Boulder or east Africa. The secret is out. Every exceptional performance now boils down to some exotic climate. ......... Like Phoenix and St. Louis.
I guarantee you there will be carnage in Tokyo with the East Africans overconfident on fitness relative to the heat and humidity. Emily will pick up the pieces and medal.
You heard here first: Emily Sisson will medal in Tokyo. That master class she showed today tells me she is highly adapted to high performance in hot conditions.

It would probably take a few generations to gain an advantage.
That was an incredible performance to watch. Emily is so talented and mentally tough. I didn’t think there was any way she could pull it off when she started leading after 4 laps but I was so wrong. One of the best 10K races I’ve seen.
That is as an awesome race to watch.
this olympics is gojng to be nuts. i think they will have to shelve every record post covid
It was an amazing performance. I'm dismayed that people here are already accusing her of doping. I hope, and don't think, that is true, but I'll say this: even if she was, running like that under those conditions is still amazing. Gutsy performance!
Can’t wait to see her burrito cocktail.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
