You don't think it's plausible that a distance runner from a county that is 5% black who starts a post asking about "recruiting" at an in-state school that happens to be the most talked-about emerging track programs in the nation *might* be white and just *might* have missed the HBCU memo?? Either way, I needed to correct the guy who thought I was inferring something about the physical closeness of his high school and NC A&T, when in fact I was stating how demographically disparate they are.
It's not an insult if someone is black or chooses to attend an HBCU, it's just becoming more likely that the young bull is not getting the guidance he needs. "Go D3!" is irresponsible advice when someone who is not making varsity at a large high school seems to be centering their college decision around running.
