What does his wife appearance have to do with anything? That was so unnecessary and disrespectful. Don't you all have wives, sisters, mothers?

I wonder what TOTAL CLASS is? Is it the same as "total class"?
He showed standards of sportsmanship in defeat (failure in fact, in coming dead last). Commendable behaviour, in itself - but what else could he say in the circumstances without being - dare I say it - a total loser? It is hard to see how that earns capitals of praise that puts him alongside those who also achieve at the highest level and not just lose, however graciously. .

The problem is that Brazier went into the race thinking he had to win, not that he just had to make the team. When Jewitt made that second big surge with 300 to go I think Brazier got sucked into chasing to early instead of saving his powder with 250 to go. Instead all Brazier did was drag Hoppel, Harris and Murphy down the back stretch. If Brazier had kept his powder dry and just tried to qualify he may, just may have been a bigger problem for Hoppel and Harris. I give Jewitt credit because when Jim Ryun made that same move with 300 to go in 1972 it cost him a spot on the team. Jewitt did a fantastic job and Murphy had the best race of his life.
Or maybe it's because he timed his peaking wrong. I mean why do you all expect someone to peak on any given week per year?
Something could have went wrong within the training program. It's really not that big of a deal.
And yeah maybe due to the training error he was 2 seconds off of his potential.

This. When you watch after the finish he looks up at the results and he is dumbfounded without any recourse… only reasonable face-saving thing to do is stick out and congratulate others. He is a good sportsman - an epic loser in these trials for sure - but a good sportsman.
