And if this was USATF's logic, why was she taken out of the lineup to begin with? If they were waiting for official notification, she should have just been left in the lineup from the beginning. But instead, they removed her and then put her back in. Why would you do this if you were simply awaiting official documentation?
Beyond that, the article is basically nothing more than tone policing.
Shelby Houlihan was banned in mid January. So USATF didn't need to wait for anything. They had known for a long time that she was banned.
Something else went on behind the scenes. I would like to know what it was. Very fishy.
