Does Nike have a way to get out of the contract? No Olympics and being branded as a cheater isn’t someone they should be keeping around.

Statement from Shelby. Says it was likely due to pork she ate:
I did everything I could to prove my innocence. I passed a polygraph test. I had my hair sampled by one of the world’s foremost toxicologists. WADA agreed that test proved that there was no build up of this substance in my body, which there would have been if I were taking it regularly. Nothing moved the lab from their initial snap decision. Instead, they simply concluded that I was a cheater and that a steroid was ingested orally, but not regularly. I believe my explanation fits the facts much better- because it’s true. I also believe it was dismissed without proper due process.
I hate that I'm so gullible in that I believe her. But maybe it's because I want to believe her.

So true. So true.
Cheaters will also be liars.
another day, another doper.
such is athletics.

The only athletes I can think of off the top of my head who have tested positive for nandrolone were Linford Christie (sprinter) and Marion Jones' 1st husband (Hunter?) who was a shot putter. Any cases of longer distances? I can't think of any.
Stacks of Kenyans ...
Good!
Can she show a transaction on her bank statement for said burrito truck that ties to the time she claims to have eaten pork burrito?
One may also question an elite athlete eating a sloppy food choice as a burrito. Everyone knows pork is very fatty if nothing else.

Drunk?
Nike are the ones doping them.oh,and the coaches.
If - big if - you could replicate the positive (ideally from the same Mexican food truck) then I think 4 years is steep.
I think if Shelby admits her doping and tells the doping authorities everything she took and the methods that she used to evade detection in the past, then I think she should have her ban reduced to 1-2 years.

I disagree. I am holding onto a glimmer of hope she is innocent, I like the trim of her jib. But I take the Jenny Simpson view on PEDS. Why do you deserve another chance? Its pervasive and ruining the sport for all of us. Over an over, year after year after year. As fans, we dont whether to be in awe of the next Sifan Hassan or be suspicious. As athletes you get a silver medal only to find out years later the person who beat you was doped. Banned for life... period... first offense! That will possibly get rid of 50% of it. We cannot just keep tolerating this if she admits to it. Find another job.
She said last year that part of her sudden improvement was due to improved diet. Seems that the diet was burritos with a side of nandrolone.
She should get the same treatment as all the others who get caught doping. As my coach used to say a poor excuse is no excuse. But she just might have the right complexion for the protection.

Falsely accused cheaters, aka not cheaters, can be truthers. You're just an anti-american slug trying to get any chance you can to rip the country that you are jealous of.

I don't understand how she is an "Olympic medal favorite" given that she is banned. Does Gault not realize that being banned means that she can't run in the Olympics, and thus has zero chance of winning a medal?

I guess you have to say that about WADA, AIU and CAS as well, whose processes have determined she is a cheater. The world is so trying to bring America down!

Cool.
This post was removed.
How often will you ask this question?
The answer is: They will never be deleted, if they are already officially recognized. AFAIK there is a presumption of innocence for the time before someone was busted.
