He was going to be doing the steeplechase. Not the discus. Way too skinny.
+1 my mistake

Hey wasn't this guy "LIKELY DOPING" on the leak documents? Low and behold he never races. Front for a suspension?
Well, I regret spending 15 minutes on that. Feel bad for him, but the video could have been 5 minutes, tops.
I was surprised that it sounded like he waited weeks to check things out with an ultrasound and then again for an MRI. I would have thought these big Nike athletes would be all about preemptive medical testing.

Not that disappointing. He has a medal, the top American time in history and a world championship medal, it's been a good career. He probably could get in shape for Eugene 2022. I can't imagine any Evan Jager fans should be that disappointed

As much as I've liked Jager over the years -- unfortunately, it's probably this. We all know El Guerrouj didn't retire in 2005.
Summary?
His achilles is not ready to compete?

I agree
He could of just said I got an Achilles injury. Tried to work through it but I’m not healthy enough for the trials. Really bummed but working everyday to get healthy and back at it.
Save the inconsequential details for grandma.
Agree, Coebra just missed out on his best chance to make the steeple team in his lifetime.
Don't give up on the dream. And, Expect Great Things!!!
This board always continues to surprise me with how toxic it is. I read a lot of discussion forums for different sports, and this is by far the most miserable community. It's wild to me how many people here seem to get off on the injuries and failures of the top athletes in our sport.
I personally appreciate the update, so often we hear NOTHING from athletes they just scratch or DNS or DNF. Updating like this is how to keep the fans in the loop. I like it and I wish more runners did it this way.

What other sports discussions forums. Curious to know.
Thanks.
Achilles can be really tough to treat and heal, short of six months to a year out from achilles surgery.
BTC coaches Schumacher and Flanagan are being revealed as quite incompetent and irresponsible.

Yes he was so Jager defending Houlihan actually for me has the opposite effect. It makes me believe even more so that she was doping.

Loved it when Shalane cried.
