Wow, both Hassan and Kipyegon under 3:54.
Hassan is so good; didn't think she'd have the speed given her recent 10,000. She is a beast, will she even run 1500 in Tokyo? Damn this lived up to the hype.
Great run from Laura 3:55

Really? What am I then? I ran a 3:51 not too long ago.
What 5k shape is she in fresh? 13:50?

Well-paced and Kipyegon pushed her the entire way. Muir ran well, too. Kipyegon will be the prohibitive favorite in Tokyo with Tsegay in the 5000. Muir should have be able to win silver or bronze if she runs smart (a big IF).
It seems Hassan could get gold in anything from 1500 to 10,000.
We NEED Ventolin to give us a predicted 5000m based on her 1500/10000

Although her 10k record lasted only 54 hours.
VPN to Japan, watching on youtube
The cameraman is loving the girl in the stands with the pink tank top. I think we've seen her four times already.
I really don't think runners should try to pass on the last bend. Like just wait till the straight. Looked like it might have mattered here.
Last 300m for Hassan in 43.90.
Astounding

Are you complaining?
hassan, kipyegon, and muir top three at the bell then a large gap, muir gritting her teeth on the back stretch...kipyegon edging up on the outside making a true challenge, coming into the final turn Muir losing touch and hassan trying to hold kipyegon off, glances over her shoulder right at the corner, off the final turn it's neck and neck, muir dropped, hassan pressing, holding faith kipyegon off juuusst barely in a time of 3:53!!! fastest time in the world this year

Well that was already true. But on the international broadcast they said her speedwork hasn't been going as well this year, and she was a bit flat when she ran her 10k (or else she would have attempted a sub 29).
Hassan kept moving out into lane 2 anyways in the last 80m or so. I was thinking Hassan was at risk of getting DQ'd with Kipyegon so close to her shoulder.

he shouldn't.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
