Wouldn’t be shocked to see him not qualify for the Olympics. If he was 100% he would have gotten the Standard Even if he took it easy and just barely dipped under. Having to get T3 and the standard at the trials (or by the end of June, I believe?) is a lot of pressure.
Actually, he needs to get the mark at the Trials. There is no period to "chase marks" this year. You must meet the Olympic standard either before or at the Trials.
I agree that the odds are for Ferlic, Bor, McGorty at this point. If Evan Jager was able he would have tried at least once to chase the standard. Leaving it to the day of reeks of desparation. In his defense, 8:22 is a way easier standard to hit than 3:35.00, 13:13.50, or 1:45.2
