I doubt he cares, but hardly anyone in the UK knows who Josh Kerr is.

Living and training in the US doesn't help.
Zero outdoor senior medals. Doubt a foreign AC record will get him noticed. Olympic podium would though :-)

lmao: no national titles, no national records, no international championship medals, no Diamond League wins, doesn't live in the UK.
No one knows track athletes unless they win an olympic medal and/or the media covers them a ton during that olympics.

Paula Radcliffe.

She set an insane WR in the marathon though.

Correct, but even besides that Radcliffe won THREE world cross country titles - 2 senior and 1 junior. As well as three silver medals and one bronze.
She also won gold in world marathon championships and half marathon.

...and “media covered her a ton” during Olympic cycles.
He's only the 3rd best current male 1500 runner from Scotland and maybe the 10th best Scottish runner overall

You mean amongst runners or the general public?
Amongst runners, everyone does know who he is.
Amongst general public, for all the reasons already outlined above. He’s achieved nothing of significance as far as the general public/general media is concerned.
There are currently two famous T&F athletes in the UK, Mo Farah and Dina Asher-Smith, maybe KJT as well. Then again, can't you say the same about US athletes? How many people would recognise Centro walking down th street?
The only runners who anyone in Britain that isn't strongly invested in running know are Paula Radcliffe, Mo Farah and of course Usain Bolt. The older generation would remember Coe, Cram and Ovett. I'd wager I could ask 100 people to name a distance runner besides Farah and Radcliffe and at least 99 of them wouldn't be able to.

Linford Christie. Probably Sally Gunnell and Colin Jackson too.
...cause he’s Scottish maybe.
The coverage of athletics in the popular UK press is dreadful. same of the tv. 90% of the coverage is on football ( soccer) and rest is cricket, rugby, tennis...anything but track and field.
Athletics has declined in popularity massively in the UK over the last 20 years, just like everywhere else.
And yes, the press coverage is awful. There was a big feature on the BBC website today about 'the first trans woman paraolympian' but nothing about Josh Kerr running the fastest ever 1500m on American soil. When Charlie Grice ran 3:29 at Monaco a couple of years ago, the BBC didn't even mention it in its small report on the Monaco meet.
Then again, let's be honest - how many threads have there been on Josh Kerr until today? You were all sleeping on him here. It was obvious from his performance in Doha and his steady progression that he would be a top 5 guy this year.

Cheruiyot, Ingebrigtsen, Wightman, McSweyn, Musugala, Tefera, Centrowitz... Not at all obvious he's a top five guy. It's tough at the top.
The man believes in himself though, wouldn't be shocked by anything he does.

Because of something you Americans call soccer.
The same reason that he will never be a rock star in the US.
Josh is considered an outsider in the US because he is not American. He is considered an outsider in GB because he chooses to train in the US. A man without a home.
Yes others have done the same thing but are never fully welcomed until they win MULTIPLE Gold medals.
