Lol. And hilarious "Good but not Top runner" description for McSweyn, who trounces everyone in this field in the outdoor 3000m other than Jakob.
His highest finish at a world champs/Olympics is 12th (losing by 30 seconds to Edris and Berega). He's good, but has done nothing to prove he's a contender against decorated veterans.

3:30/7:28 PBs make him pretty special, but I’m not 100% convinced he doesn’t fall off a bit beyond 3k. Would love to see him knock it out of the park and break Mottram’s record, though.
Glad to see the oversight of Ahmed has gotten some notice. I could see him being one of four (with Cheptegei, Barega and J. Ingebrigtsen) still in contention in the final lap.
Edris, T. Haile Bekele and Gebrhiwet all in somewhat unknown fitness.
Good chance for Justyn Knight to crack 13.
Alright screw you guys. I'm calling Ahmed for the W.
Knight I think will run very low 13 or break 13, if it's rabbited at that pace of course.
Jakob is obviously just going to try for the W
all the good stuff is running between 3 and 3:40 eastern time. might have to push practice back a bit!
it really doesn't get any more exciting than that 5000 field. WOW
Errr, McSweyn is young. He really jumped two levels last year and is now one of the worlds best 1500-3000 runners. Won't be surprising if he can run a 12:50 flat.

The one thing that would make this race even more exciting is if Fisher was thrown in here. Would be awesome to see a new AR!!

Oh yeah, that piece of work. I wonder if he'll grab a shirt and pull Chepty or Jakob to the ground.

Our friend Mohamed Katir is here = This is the unknown variable here.
BAREGA, Selemon = seems in low performances all the last year
IGUIDER, Abdelaati = This one I know he is a bad kicker even if he spend 20 years training
MCSWEYN, Stewart = Good but not Top runner
INGEBRIGTSEN, Jakob = The day of truth
CHEPTEGEI, Joshua = The only way for him to win is a fast 5000m so he can play on his endurance
EDRIS, Muktar = This is the man I want to explore more and I hope he will be in his day.
You may be on to something. Katir has sworn to Allah to take down the east Africans.
Jakob crushes this one. Best distance runner on Earth right now.
Incredible field. If we’re lucky we’ll get a ton of guys under 13 like Paris 2012 and Brussels 2018. Hopefully someone is willing to take on the pace after the rabbits drop.
How this isn't the busiest thread today says everything you need to know about most of the users here.

You say you follow these guys but you don't know Barega ran 7:26 indoors a few months ago?
Don't know how well that translates to an outdoor 3k but I think he's in top shape.
so what's the deal with the Ethiopian trials? if they are just days apart will the Ethiopians in this race actually compete?

I was really a big fan of Barega and was following his progress through his twitter and info sites but I'm afraid he has this issue of finish. I'm still waiting this "great awakening" from him, especially the IAAF ranked him as the best rising runner in 2019.
At best he could be a male version of S. Hassan (she also a problem of kick).

If Jacob win we could be assured by at least a month of "bell and whistle", not only from the Norwegian medias but the whole Europe. We like the white beautiful guy there.
Good luck.

If it was Jakob, it would be due recompense for the world final.
