I bett we don’t see a 400 post thread about how Jakob’s 3:36 means every other performance he’s run is suspicious because he (like Cheptegei) ran a very reasonable 1500m time to open his season considering the conditions.

Did you see the conditions and how the field responded to them? You might be the most incompetent person on these boards. Not a relevant comparison. Check back when he opens in 3:36 and the winner goes 3:30 in solid conditions.
The OP is correct in pointing on this.

So what? Of course they are both likely doping. This has been obvious with Jakob for a long time.

Obvious? Laughable.
OK so it is not obvious to you. I cannot aid those without the requisite intelligence to ascertain the palpable.

Why is he not banned if its obvious?

Who?
You don't know what you have written some hour before?

They are both likely doping. They are not banned because the sport is dying.

And this is obvious? It's obvious that they are likely doping? So you don't know they are doping, but it's obvious they do?

I just love conspiracy theories. Nice to see when people have these, not backed by empirical evidence, but only through some strange kind of mechanical "reasoning". Jakobs brother Henrik ran bad at 5000, not doped? But wait a minute; Narve Gilje Nordas (22) also trained by Gjert Ingebrigtsen will soon run under 13.13.5 at 5000, and his PB is 13.33.39, that at least might fuel, what shall we call it if we are nice, speculations?
I wouldnt have thought the sport is dying. It doesnt appear to be.

The difference is that over the course of a year, Jakob will be tested at least 10 x as much as the Ugandan, with little or no chance of bribes to testers etc.
Not saying that it's impossible Jakob could be doping, but if he is then it would be small scale compared to the top East Africans and probably more like 'bending the rules' Al Sal style.

Jakob won his race in appalling conditions and did just enough to win. Looked like he could easily knock out a sub 3:30 in Monaco tomorrow.

It was in intensive care, but thanks to some semblance of testing in Africa and the emergence of the likes of Jakob and now Max Burgin, and lot's of exciting talent in the women's as well, it's likely to experience a resurgence of interest.
