Men's 1500M lineup includes Oliver Hoare, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Stewart Mcsweyn. Oliver and Stewart have been on fire in recent months and Jakob's talent is off the charts. This race should be a good chance for Stewart to break 3:30 and for Oliver to mix it up with more talent than he's faced recently. Race starts at 14:40 CST this afternoon
Sub 3:30 in 20mph winds, cold weather and constant rain would be an amazing effort.
I predict a 3:33/3:34 winning time

It's not about the times, it's about everyone being able to perform at or near their best.
Varying conditions like wind, cold, and rain affect different sprinters differently, which is the problem. You may argue that because conditions are equal for everyone, the race is always fair--but for sure there is a general sweet spot, where everyone can perform at or very near their potential.
Personally I like it super hot, humid, and still. Makes me look faster when everyone else is wilting. :^)
Its an outdoor sport. Having people being differently affected is actually interesting. Opens a chance of upsets
I hear you, but everything is done to optimize performance, including building a dedicated facility, to really level the playing field.
OTOH marathon is cool when there is a weather-related result. KAWAUCHI!
Not a field event fan by any metric, but am backing the new format.
Let me state for the record that the steeplechase is the one distance vevent I always felt it didn't matter what the weather was - people can run fast. They aren't actually running that fast or that far so for some reason the weather doensn't seem to impact them that much.
El Bakkali out. Wider open now. 8:18 wins it?
Set VPN to Romania.
Whoa! 2:55 first K. And with a pacer. Sup up with that? No one looking for a qualifier? I know there are a lot more Diamond League meets to come but this is way slow up till now.
8:30 win for Bor. Not v impressive.
That’s insane! The wind doesn’t slow you down if you are running slower!

1) Did they way why El Bakkali didn't run? I stepped out of the room and can't rewind.
2) Is that the first HOKA DL victory ever?
3) Should we do a black splash page for the rare American victory?

BLM claims otherwise.
For a while Bor looked like he was gonna drop off the back.
