The US is probably in the best shape currently of any non-island country. The pandemic is basically over here. And wanna make a bet on your prediction of the future?

Does anybody know how many people died from wearing a mask?
Other than a temporary inconvenience, it was far less annoying than hearing people whining about their perceived loss of freedom.
Everyone is right until they are wrong.
This is the problem. Until a fairly long period of time has passed, the "science" is wrong more than not. During this period certain people claim (shout), follow the science and you are an idiot and incel if you don't! Shortly later during this period, the science comes up with new data that contradicts the prior data, and these same people starting their shouting over again. Can you see the problem here?

It is funny how the conservative movement has become nothing more than a collection of whiny man-babies who lose their sh$t at the slightest of government regulation with no regard for the greater good. Reagan's "Rugged Individualism" was a conservative ideal of the self reliant individual who would take care of his own affairs regardless of the circumstances and, thus, obviate the need for government intervention in society. A the center of this ideal was the assumption that the rugged individualist would always act in the best interest of society as a rational maximizer. Today, the right wing individualist is a perpetual whiner who is always blaming immigrants, BLM, antifa and the most innocuous government mandates like wearing a mask in public during a global pandemic as being the cause of his plight.
Which side is always blaming, while overusing the victim card?
Every week more and more of the truth comes out. Denying the Lab Leak at this point is itself, anti-science. Nice to see it finally seeping into the mainstream propaganda outlets after a year of yelling “conspiracy theorists!”

Trump is my guy but I got to agree with some of that. Covid was/is real and there was an opportunity for Trump and conservatives to go to war with the virus instead they whined. It cost us lives and likely an election, it was a weak move.

It's true.
Those who have committed to believing this guy seem unable to process new information about him
Both. One side is still counting ballots from last November’s election in which they got trounced.

It is about expecting the truth from people who are in charge of policy. Rand Paul in November said that if you have had COVID or if you have had the vaccine, you should throw your mask away and he was skewered by the left, CNN, NPR, etc. for it as recently as a week ago (6 months after the fact), when they finally acceded to the fact. Many on the left (including Pelosi) still do not want to accept the truth as it means losing their power / influence.

It's possible we might have gathered some more information on vaccine efficacy since November.

Sounds like you and Harambro for the past year.
I take it that you are one of those people that think Trump has more credibility than Fauci.
"They aren’t going to tell you to do something unless it’s scientifically supported."
Problem is, their policy was based on something that wasn't scientifically supported.

Actually the African continent is in far better shape with 4 times as many people as America and has had about 20% of the cases and deaths.

Fauci has been serving under 5 different administrations, has one of the worlds most trusted positions regarding global infections. His reputation is spotless.
That the orange liar couldnt handle being told NO, doesnt change that. To the contrary, it shows Fauci has integrity (something you cant say about the vast amount of republicans who still licks Trumps bottom.)
That the scientific advise changes as we get more information and testing, is completely normal.
What is not normal is americans still believing lunatic conspiracy theories about Fauci making millions of vaccines, Bill Gates tracking us with chips in the vaccines - God, its so stupid it hurts!
Fauci bought and paid for this pandemic. He is only a lying murderer. He deserves a full investigation. He has no credibility and never really did; just a politician scamming the American public for over 3 decades. His reputation is dirt and shameful is what it is, not spotless.

I take it you are one of those guys who brings Trump into every argument over ever issue.
You guys always swallow the latest right-adjacent Kool-Aid. Lab leak is possible. GOF engineering is less likely.

Man....there are a ton of ignorant fools on Letsrun. They are the prime example of why the United States has the most cases, hospitalized and deaths from Covid19. A year from now we will still be talking about dealing with the different Covid19 variants that are widespread in the United States because we never reached heard immunity, don't wear masks and don't social distance.
Yes indeed.
But at least the US is no. 1 in Covid death for now.
