This. I am sorry that I don’t believe falling down stairs is a symptom of Covid.
It could have been the result of Covid symptoms.
If I have dizziness from the flu and slip and break my leg, the flu is certainly a contributory factor.
Otherwise, that would mean that a regular occurrence in my life is slipping.
You'll contrive anything to have the races back..the only thing that curbs your adhd, and makes you bearable to people.

Okay but are you willing to live as if there's an emergency for the rest of your life? What about that threshold?
I for one would prefer to live in a society where I can see people's faces, and have interactions with others that don't involve negotiating with public health guidelines worming their way into every part of human experience. It just sucks, and so do the casualties, but we have been well on our way to a 'permanent emergency' mentality aimed at draining our lives of meaning and happiness.

The answer is maybe.
The pandemic has taught us many things about how sloppy we have been as adults, despite how we learned hygienic and sanitary practices throughout life.
Prior to the pandemic, here is what I knew for a long time:
The value of hand sanitizer (so important when dealing with dirty drunk and smoke addled gamblers while working in a casino cashier cage and dealing with their nasty dollars)
The value of hand washing (this is obvious..and your hands can smell good)
The value of making sure to use antibacterial soap ( some are just perfumed chemicals)
The value of showering daily and especially after work or a workout
The value of gloves for food preparation ( at 7-eleven alone, just to give someone a hot dog, the true procedure, which I followed to the letter was: wash hands, sanitize hands, put on gloves, get bun out of bag, put on paper tray, rinse tongs, dry tongs, get hot dog, put in bun, put paper tray in wrapper...it's very sanitary...not every clerk does every step)
I knew a clerk at a 7-eleven in California in my neighborhood who used to wear gloves during his shift...i thought that was safe
The value of a mask, especially when sick...a good portion of our Japanese and sometimes Chinese or Korean students would wear a mask if they had a cold or flu and would be on campus that day. Covid wasn't even around, but they knew the practice from home.
The value of cleaning a workstation...at a workplace years ago, we used to have to take cotton balls and isopropyl alcohol and clean our workstation before we started.
This was in 2002.
Distancing: I've always wanted my space; i dislike closeness
Then, new factors came in:
The advent of hospital grade cleaners (quaternary ammonium)
Liners in masks as needed
Keeping people home who had symptoms
Quarantining classes for a few days based on exposure
Social distancing at work
Avoiding hugging, shaking hands and all too close behaviors that could transmit an illness
So yes, in general, after writing this out, it all seems like common sense for a safe society.
I am re-examining my list and it seems suitable.

You can live however you like. You probably take it to an extreme. It is good to challenge your immune system every so often and not live in a bubble. People (especially kids who have developing immune systems) that live in too sterile an environment tend to have more allergies. Certain strains of bacteria are your friend (about 3# of your body weight is made up of bacteria which help you digest foods and bacteria in your saliva provide front line protection against other microbes) and things like antibiotic soap with triclosan can harm those beneficial bacteria. Additionally, triclosan in antibiotic hand soap and some hand sanitizers has been linked to things like infertility, increased risk of allergies, weakened immune function and other issues.
I think triclosan has been banned because of that.
Lots of horrible things used to be in products and still are.
I use as simple a soap as possible. There is not great evidence for the antibacterial ones over old fashioned ones.
That is all probability and maybe.

That is old news.
Most hand soap companies are using Benzalkonium Chloride or Benzethonium Chloride now.
But you never explained why a protected society is bad.

Really? Why don't you go to Africa, India or any third-world location and ask them about allergies. The only places you see food and environmental allergies prominently are "clean" places like the US. Our immune systems need to be exposed to pathogens in order to protect from pathogens. This isn't a crazy new idea, it's 9th grade biology.
You cannot mask, wash, or Purell away all the pathogens out there, nor would you want to.
