Information such as vaccination records.
Information such as vaccination records.
Our CEO just announced we are paying vaccinated employees a $100 bonus.
I don't think that will sway anyone opposed to it.
But I'll take it and buy a nice meal.

HIPAA means your healthcare provides cannot give your records to your employer without your consent but it has absolutely nothing to do with your employer asking you to provide your records, asking about your vax status, or any other medical stuff.
What will happen when many of those vaxxed folks get really sick next year and the establishment blames it on yet another variant of Covid?
Will people still be believing them?
Probably.
Saw Fauci crying victim again on another interview. The more power you have the bigger victim you can claim to be these days

Huge difference. Coerced into giving up your private health data with the threat of job loss is nothing like giving the data against your will.
You guys deserve to live in the distopia being built
Well, the $100 bonus at least is a way to get employees to volunteer their vax status without asking their vax status.
We will get to know what percent are vaxxed.
Then we can determine if we can go unmasked in the building or not.
You're allowed to ask vax status! There's nothing illegal or even questionable about asking. People have to right to decline to tell you.
I do agree the incentive tilts the needle in favor of people reporting their status.
This is exactly what I think will happen over the next year or two. Many vaxers will get sick from these experimental gene therapies (by definition they really should not be called vaccines), and then they will blame it on a new variant, and somehow those of us that chose not to be vaccinated.

Can you explain how:
1) mRNA vaccines are “gene therapies”
2) how any concerns from vaccination are not valid with viral infection (same mRNA, higher dose, more systemic)
Thanks!
Correct
I'm sort of dumbfounded how few people actually understand HIPPA. The basics are pretty simple.

The legal standing is clear that my company can mandate vaccination.
The question is - is it a good business move?
Oh so your company lawyers are never wrong and have tested this in court?
Yes its been tested in court numerous times. Yes High schools can insist you are vaccinated to play High School sports. Yes employers can drug test. etc etc
You are comparing the actions of minors at a school and testing for illegal substances banned by federal law. Neither are comparable to this situation.
Comparing them to employers forcing people to make medical decisions in case that wasn’t clear

Employment lawyers are saying companies can require vaccination. Sounds weird to me.
Lawyers can say whatever they want. Judges and/or juries decide if they're right or wrong.
You can't so much as ask people about any medical condition without a damn good reason. Medical privacy laws are very strict. OP should be very careful not to get his/her company sued for damages.

What damages?

I do fear this is a real possibility and also that all the suckers will go right along with this rather than consider the possibility they have fallen for a big lie

What damages?
Job loss? Being coerced into taking a vax that makes you sick?

You don’t lose the job. The job is there. You refuse to do it. You don’t get unemployment.
Best of luck proving that the vaccine made you sick.

I'm honestly not worried about the company being sued for damages.
This subject is based on the assumption that we would legally be cleared to require employees to be vaccinated to work in the building.
That assumption may wrong, but let's assume it's correct as a basis for this discussion.
I personally do not want to require it. Certainly not at this stage even though I have been fully vaccinated.
Going from it's only recently available to it is totally mandated in short time is a bit drastic of a step.
My next concern was simply how to ask employees about their vaccination status.
Those that don't want to be vaccinated likely don't want the question asked of them. They may take that as a personal attack.
The solution for this phase has been to offer a $100 bonus for proof of vaccination.
This is a small incentive to get the shot, but an easy incentive for employees to disclose that they have indeed been vaccinated.
Within a month we will have a good idea if we have a vey high vaccination rate or not.
I think if we hit 80% we can go with masks optional for everyone- vaccinated or not.
