Why are Americans still masking & why are there still COVID restrictions in place?

With half of Americans still unvaccinated and cases falling but still in the multiple tens of thousands per day, every additional masked day brings the pandemic in the United States that much closer to the end. That's why. Mask up until the end of June, get your shots, which are painless, and we'll totally get this done and not have hundreds or thousands dying each day from a completely preventable illness that has wiped out 600,000 of us already.

Probable cases were cases primarily early on where the clinician diagnosed COVID but the test wasn't available. That is how they diagnose flu as well in the vast, vast majority of cases. Few are tested. Here the vast majority were tested.

During this COVID hysteria the most unreasonably scared and fearful individuals tend to vote Democrat. I’m not not really sure why that is but it appears that left leaning individuals were much more likely to be fearful, sometimes to a debilitating degree, than right leaning individuals- I’m sure there is a sociological or psychological reason behind this.

You can also see this on a larger scale when you compare right leaning coverage of COVID (fox) vs left leaning coverage of COVID (cnn).

This is untrue. Tell a Conservative that Central Americans are going to move to their town and watch what happens. Most people are fearful. The subjects vary.

92% of death certificates have COVID as the underlying cause on death certificates involving the disease.

500k excess deaths and those deaths only appeared in states when they were having a COVID outbreak (e.g. South Dakota)

Test positivity is below 0.1% in some places so COVID PCR tests are quite sensitive for the disease.

No change in other causes of death (you'd expect heart disease deaths to drop, etc, if they are being miscoded as COVID deaths)

So it's not miscoding, it's not lockdowns, it's not something else being mistaken as COVID due to bad testing, what killed 500k more Americans than expected this year???

Hey buddy it’s not the fully vaccinated spreading the virus, which is why the CDC came out with their science supported stance. It should incentivize people to get vaccinated. It’s science. Support the science and get vaccinated. Don’t need a mask.

The government could’ve and should’ve been pushing this test. It is the interest of everyone, but especially the unvaccinated.

Masks are the new Scarlett letter. Extremely ineffective but a good way to ostracize a substantial part of the population who may be immune and, justifiably, reticent to get the vaccine until we have more data.

What we should be doing is shaming the huge percentage of the population who are obese, smokers, drinkers, consumers of sugar and fried foods, and producers of all of these comorbidities that make them especially vulnerable to Covid, like hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and other cardiovascular disease.

Type 2 diabetes (totally preventable) and cardiovascular disease (also largely preventable) consume 60% of the cost of Medicare. That is our standard. We should be shaming these people with incentives and perverse incentives and extreme sin taxes to make them accountable for their health, diets, exercise, etc. Kind of like the airlines want to start weighing people, which is already common in other countries.

But, the Precious Roy lawyer types will litigate it based on some kind of violation of civil liberties. What a country we live in.

We have to use precautions until we are down to less than one Benghazi a day (4 deaths).
