hannah and katelyn's splits are faster than the US #1 time's splits .. i hope katelyn can keep this up
Tough last two laps for Tuohy.
Still, she has the 1500m mark and will for sure be able to hang as the years pass at NCstate
15:47, faded in last 800. 15:31 for Steelman though
I was not expecting tuohy to run an 84 second last lap. Yikes. I wonder what happened?
Katelyn Tuohy runs 15:47.38 5k college debut ! finished third!! ah!!! congrats kt!!

She hit a wall. But hey, Indoors her 3,000's were right around 9:20 I think and today went through 3,000 at 9:22
Very solid time. Like XC I think she now trains with Steelman and Henes but is not yet able to hold their pace yet for a full race.
Still regaining fitness. She may have benefited from a slower pace at this point but she is trying to run with her training group.
KATELYN TUOHY COLLEGE 5K DEBUT 15:47.38
- finished third
- fastest freshman time at 5k ( she also owns the fastest freshman time at 1500m)
- time qualified for ncaa outdoor regionals
- fourth-best time is nc state program history
- if theres an age-group records in college, katelyn would have shattered the freshman and even the sophomore records already
ps. this is only the second 5k race she joined in her whole running career

lets all remember that katelyn tuohy only started racing just less than two months ago, and the fact that she has been putting out these crazy numbers is beyond crazyyyy!! shes still a beast! im so happy for her and wish her nothing but continued progress and fitness
Very glad she qualified for NCAA.
My impression is that NC State divides the runners into different training groups based on times. Once I saw her in the final race with Steelman I figured they projected she would run below 15:50.
These NC State ladies have a great thing goin, pr's and sb's all over the place, stars helping teammates with pacing and team racing.
Nice pr's at 5k for Howlett, Cuarzo and Latour.
Much respect to Frazier as her comeback effort shows a promising result.
Henes and Steelmann performing at consistent high level. Chmiel / Clairmonte / Shaw doing speedwork.
Tuohy outdoor 4:16/15:47 both will qualify for NCAA East and both are right there with lifetime bests of 4:14/15:37.
Will be a fun drive home for the pack.
