Let the sub-10 guys go. Aim for a 2:40 first 800, and then try to pick it up a little each lap from there.

My guess would be somewhere in the 10:00 - 10:20 range. You seem like you're a bit better at the shorter distances, so my guess is more like 10:20.
My sophomore year of HS we had similar PRs -- I ran 53, 2:03, 4:36, and 10:13.
I thought this was going to be about the first time a race of that distance was held. I have to say, it is a mystery to me. Until I had fairly regular internet access and starting checking out the site a few years back, I'd never heard of it. I know all of you will scream 'High School! High School!' but I have to say, I'd never heard of a 3200 when I was in high school. I knew the whole running crowd at school and was sort of a leader of the group. Nobody ever mentioned that distance as being a competitive event.
So, it postdates January 1981. That's when I graduated. I predates 2011. Around there somewhere I first heard of LRC. Some time during that 30 years, the first 3200 was run. Does anyone when and where? Who won? How fast?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
