I think those 800m repeats at your pace are verging on taking too long to accomplish the goal of R pace work, which is working on anaerobic power and good form. In the 3rd edition, Daniels recommends capping the interval time around 2 minutes, so a 2:39 interval seems pretty long to stay at such an intense pace. If you felt strong and smooth the whole time, I'd say go for it, but also keep in mind that you should probably trim the interval length if your form is deteriorating at the end.
