Today I can be visible because of the many Trans folks who have paved the way for me. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you and happy trans day of visibility to my beautiful and powerful trans family
This person admits not being an XX woman. Therefore this person should NOT still be competing in women's events. World Athletics needs to get off their duffs and put a stop to things like this from happening.
Nikki has spoken about wanting to receive gender affirming care in the past, so this is not new.
I think Nikki has always been evidence that the non-binary/trans demands in sports are a bit dramatic and over the top.
Many trans/NB people have insisted that it is a humanitarian issue to force someone to compete outside of their preferred gender. But Nikki is perfectly happy competing with women (not their gender). Nikki is also perfectly happy to delay gender affirming care until their career is over. I thought gender affirming care was also a life or death issue?
I'm fine with Nikki identifying how they want and I am fine with them competing against women as long as they don't take testosterone. But Nikki is proof positive of how arbitrary and superficial it all is. So maybe we shouldn't be sacrificing integrity of sports competitions for all this? Just because someone says its life or death doesn't mean it is.
So how does it work? Some days she will run in the men category and other days in the women category depending on how she feels that day?
I am not joking here, it’s a serious question.
I have a good feeling that her "female" days are going to conveniently fall on the days she races.
I think Hiltz raced 30 times since then. All int he women's category. Assuming Hiltz splits time evenly between both genders (the so-called lived experience) that'd be 1/2^30 = 9.3*10^-12% odds. Racing in the women's 2 mile again tomorrow.
No one cares about her pronouns and this whole mess is just her adding more controversy to a sport that doesn’t need any more controversy. She’s XX and runs in races with other XX females. No one cares about her personal life off of the track or how she feels that day. Why should we?

I've always felt her framing of the binary (that she isn't part of or whatever) as "powerful queen" vs "regular dude" is blatant proof she's a standard feminist woman--they almost always talk about women in high-sounding terms while describing men as mediocre. I'm also certain that if she came along in any earlier era, she'd be just that, a short-haired feminist woman athlete. I hope sciences comes up with a proper treatment for whatever people like her feel inside that makes them uncomfortable with themselves as they are, or if she's among the trendy frauds, I hope something else comes along soon.
