I was recently diagnosed with achilles tendinopathy. The defenition is inflamation around the achilles tendon. It is a series of very small tears(micro tears)in the connective tissue. In my case it is right on the heel area that comes around near the bottom of the achilles tendon.
This is very much different than regular achilles tendonitis.Instead of being sore and achy,it is a series of very sharp needley type shooting pains. You can feel little fibers tearing when you bend over to pick something up.Very painful, much worse than when I got achilles tendonitis two years ago.
I had never heard of this before, has anyone on the board heard of such a thing? My Dr. said it is very slow healing and I believe him.It is hard to step down out of bed each morning and I have to be extremly careful every time I pick something up. Any thoughts on recovery time from someone who has had or knows of someone who has had?
