Also, Parker Wolfe wins in 14:06. 4:28, about 9:02 through 16 and 32. Led the whole way and ran alone the last two miles. Second place was 14:35.
I think once Brown gets a little more strength or goes out a little slower, she'll be unstoppable. Nonetheless, a great race from her.
Parker Wolfe absolutely crushed it. It would've been great if the Newbury Park boys (or at least Sahlman and the Youngs) were there thouugh.
Unstoppable? Hutchins? Thorvaldson? Brown is still way behind Hutchins.
Top 10 all time
15:34.47 -- Jenna Hutchins 2020
15:37.12i - Katelyn Tuohy 2018
15:45.46 -- Mary Cain 2013
15:48.91 -- Emily Sisson 2010
15:50.32 -- Cayla Hatton 2012
15:52.88 -- Caitlin Chock 2004
15:55.75i - Brie Oakley 2017
15:55.94 -- Wesley Frazier 2013
15:56.84 -- Fiona O’Keeffe 2016
15:56.89 -- Brynn Brown 2021
Thorvaldson should make the list this year if she runs a 5000.
Hopefully with Brown and/or Hutchins in the same race.
Hutchins is scheduled to open her season with a 3200 on Saturday in NC.
Hutchins is shooting for 8:59.
Interesting list. Sisson the only one to have major success at the senior level, I believe?
Good observation. I hadn't really thought about it. Let's hope that changes since Tuohy and Hutchins are 1-2 and they are both young.

Brown is not even in the conversation with Hutchins and Thorvaldsen! She can’t get close to Hutchins times this year and Thorvaldsen beat her badly at CC and on the Indoor track. She wasn’t even close.
4:43 and 9:47 indoor. How fast do expect the other two to run?

A 15;56 after a 4:53 first 1600 means she is in shape for 15:3x, so I think it's reasonable to keep her in the conversation.

This leads us back to the conversation about how much Hutchins time was helped by having a good pacer and pacing lights (or how much Brown and prior to that Tuohy) was not helped by just running on their own.
Tuohy was 4:54/9:54/15:00/15:37 whereas Brown faded even more 4:53/10:02/15:25ish/15:56.7
I think with better pacing each of them could have gone maybe 5-10 seconds faster, but not 20.
To her credit Hutchins took the lead at 1600 as I recall, although she did have the lights.
I would like to see her win one race with another elite athlete in it! She has never won a significant national race

Good points about Hutchins.....her two best track races had pacers in them, which is an advantage that all other HS top 10 performers did not have.

She ran a 4:44 1600 on Thursday. Not bad for a warm up.

Whoever your favorite runner is, don’t worry- people liking other runners is not going to harm the career of your favorite. And some people won’t recognize the excellence of your favorite - that’s ok too, it doesn’t change how fast or accomplished your favorite really is.
Will she have two pacers or three? :)
I believe that Cain girl won a couple US titles at 1500/mile and made the 1500 final at world championships. That's some success at senior level.

Tuohy 5. For Brown the 4:43, the 9:47, and yesterday all indicate close to 20.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
