I'd like to add that I snack on all the wrong things - chips, candy bars, ice cream, soda. McD french fries are a favorite. I eat lots of red meat - the kind that drips fat. I only discriminate by taste (yum means more). If I take in over 3000 calories a day, I'm good to go....of course this is the diet of a skinny guy.
All this to point out that if you burn enough calories you can still lose fat despite what you eat. If you do both (burn more calories and ingest less), the effects are more dramatic.
