Looks like a big exaggeration, but my kid is now a believer in the
shoes even for cross country.
Div 1 college.
On the girls side, none of the team wore the shoes until the conference
meet where 1 did. That girl moved from back half of the team finish
to front half. On the guys side most of them have been using the shoes
and the one that hadn't been and wore 'em for the conference meet also
moved from the back half to the front half on the team.
From the two examples above looks like a good 20-30 second effect
over the low 20's race time--so a couple percent.
For Monday's race, I believe it is supposed to rain over the next few days
so the course at OSU I assume will be pretty soft and equalize the shoes,
but if not, they are a definite factor.
