I was driving my in laws 1/2 pit home from British Columbia to Minnesota. Found out just shy of Manitoba that I couldn’t even legally pass through the province with the dog breed, had to detour down into North Dakota.
I have a ton of experience with dogs and different dog parks. Pit bulls are very disproportionately involved in altercations and the owners seem to always have an excuse. That has been the case with both pit bulls owned by my in-laws as well. One bit my hand when I was pulling it off my dog. Brother in law was very dismissive of it, I let him have it.
I don’t understand the compulsion to say they are not aggressive. They are, and that is ok, in certain settings.
Nobody claims a lab is good because it doesn’t like chasing a ball, but they do claim a pit is good if it’s not aggressive.
Please don’t get a pit unless you are a trained dog handler using the dog for security and away from the public and children. Even then....get a Kangal, Pyrenees, something like that.
